Forget and forgive

IMG_5591

Forgive and forget, so they say…but can you forget and forgive?

What if you forgot to send out an email that hundreds of folks were counting on for inspiration?  That marked the beginning of your new week?   That added a little lightness to someone’s day or made a difference in some little way?

Could you forgive yourself enough to send that message a day late, still filled with love and inspiration?  Could you love yourself enough to honor the hectic pace that got away from you without judging too harshly your set of priorities?  Could you simply say, “This message will still matter and will serve its purpose, even in this different time dimension.”

I hope so…

Our Opinions

IMG_3580

Do you really need to be right?

Is there just one answer to the question?

Can’t we find space for both our opinions?

Perhaps in this complex Universe

We are intended to have different perspectives.

Perhaps through our varying views

We can impact the greatest change.

It’s easy to partner with those who share

The same point of view.

Divinely powerful to embrace that which is different.

Could it be that our opinions intertwined,

Instead of butted against each other,

Can lead to greatness beyond each of us

As we stand in our opinions alone?

Let’s partner in our differences,

Nod to each other’s strengths.

Let’s meet at the top of that mountain,

grow the Universe stronger and brighter

With love, compassion, and respect

For one another and our opinions.

Love in action

Love in action 2

Compassion is love in action.

When you are compassionate with others, you accept them in a space of humble kindness.  You are not excusing action or inaction on their part, rather you are fully acknowledging that the action or inaction is theirs and they are trying to do their best to be their best.

When you are compassionate with yourself, you invite the richest form of healing and growth imaginable within your deepest Self, knowing you are doing your best to be at your best.

Feel the love…unconditionally.

Feel compassion.

Remembrance

photo-3

Love is fleeting. Beauty is passing. Joy is scattered and momentary.  Or is it?

Just because the petals of the rose fall from the stem does it mean the rose was never beautiful?

Remembrance is the power to retain the love, the beauty, the joy long after those precious moments have passed.

Hold the memories of those moments, those special people and experiences, in your mind, and close to your heart this Memorial Day…a day of remembrance.

Love a little more

Breathe love

Settle your shoulders away from your ears, slide your shoulder blades down your back, squeeze them together a little, opening your heart space.  Take a deep breath in and feel a little more love.

BREATHE!  BREATHE deeply!  Feel your chest rise, your ribs expand…FREE your heart.  Shed the coat of armor, soften and expand the space surrounding your heart.   Invite deeper and more fulfilling breath into the body, and begin to heal, soften, and strengthen your heart space.

Opening the heart allows you to forgive, let go of resentment, release fear…experience more freedom, more love, more joy.

Breathe.  FREE your heart.

Keep BREATHing…love a little more.

Timeless Optimism

Optimistic sun

The Optimist Creed (by Christian D. Larson, 1912)

Promise yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past, and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.

To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Written 100 years ago and yet written for today.

Make it a great week!

Replace Fear with Love

Love

Our natural state is one of love.  We are meant to make decisions, act, and behave from a space of love – love for ourselves and love for each other.  Yet, as we go through life, sometimes experiences create in us a space of rustling, uneasiness, fear.  We end up acting and moving from a state of fear, rather than one of love.

Fear is not a natural state – breath is shallow, muscles tense, the ego steps in, behaviors become defensive, and the mind, body, and breath are imbalanced.

Reclaim your balance.  Steady yourself.  Let go of expectations and pre-determined outcomes.  Notice that decisions and actions from a space of fear can be hollow or unfulfilling in the end.

Return to your natural state.  Connect with the true seat of your wisdom, your heart.  Accept and like yourself, don’t be afraid of who you really are, and move from a place of love.

Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we learned here.

Life Lessons

dr. seuss portrait

Life isn’t so simple,

Or, so, some might say.

But, joy, love and kindness

Can brighten anyone’s day.

And, isn’t that really what matters most of all.

To care for ourselves and those around us…no matter how big or small?

(Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss…and thank you for inspiring these and so many of my other words, thoughts, and actions!)
