The Flurry

Snowflakes are gently falling, wet, heavy, cold. The air is still.  Yet, as if aligned with a predetermined path down, they fall, curling and dancing on invisible threads. How beautifully and carefully they weave the fabric of the newly formed blanket of white.

The landscape now changes. Familiar objects and colors fade as I grasp for their memories.  Each flake masking more and more of what I know, as more of my roots and my foundation fade.

They blur my vision as they spin and race to weave the blanket. They only create the illusion that what I know is no more.

For when I pause to breathe, I see. These dancing flakes inspire a new kind of looking, as if through a clouded window that needs to be cleared. My breath the cloth that wipes the window clean.

Faith reminds me that I know where I am, who I am, even as all I know disappears under the blanket.

And then, almost as quickly as the storm started, the flurry ends. Almost as quickly as they appeared the flakes melt away.

With this new moment, the sun shines. With this new moment, rays of light now dance on the same threads that wove the blanket.

Once more I am reunited with the familiar. Finding my roots and the landscape just as I had left it – once buried, never lost.

Response-Able

I am whole.

I am complete.

I am not waiting for anything.

I am aware of all that is going on inside and all around me.

There is choice at the base of my every action.

I am powerful and free.

I am responsible.

I am response-ABLE.

Coeur…age

Think with your heart. Have faith in your instincts. Place yourself in unfamiliar positions and you just might find you are more comfortable and happier than you ever imagined you could be.

Follow not the bright star

that leads from above,

but the light from within

that guides with pure love.

Fly Freely

IMG_1060

The waters span wide.  The air open and clear.  We fly in a world of abundance yet so often we swirl in competition for the perfect bite.  Jockeying for our place in the sun.  Diving deep for what feeds us with such reckless abandon.  But, when we soar gently on the currents of the air, watch intently for the tell-tale shadow that slides below the glistening surface of the water, in that moment the abundance shines clearly …soaring and diving, not in fear of what others might take from us, rather in knowing there is plenty and we can in every moment be freely and completely fed.

Back to School

apple

Pack your best supplies and perhaps an apple for your teacher.  Apply your knowledge keenly to learn from all life’s lessons, knowing that the curriculum, the patterns and experiences, has been precisely planned by your teacher to inspire forever growth and learning.  Select the courses to take and when and how to apply your knowledge.  The curriculum is there to guide you, developed by your greatest teacher…you.

Heart In

heart

Remember, my friend, you have a heart and a mind.  The mind keeps us safe, the heart keeps us real.

I know that whatever you do will be meaningful and magnificent as long as you keep your heart in it and your ego out of it.

Take a Stand

Stand Under

The feet are the foundation for the heart and head, the physical roots of Self.  They carry us. They know our struggles.  They tell our story – a story of how we have lived, our relationships with others, our deepest strengths, and where we have stood through every weakness.

Whether standing in the shadows or on the front lines of our experiences, we directly connect those experiences to our roots.

When we humbly and courageously stand under our experiences as opposed to standing up to them, we begin to open our hearts, strengthen our compassion for ourselves and others, and to exercise the most clear and powerful voice of action, that of the higher self.

We must stand under in order to understand.
