Beautiful

I am not broken.

Although, perhaps to some I may appear that way.

When I sit in stillness, in the quiet of my own heart, it is clear that I may be chipped.

I may be cracked.

Parts of me may be loose or wobbly,

but there is such a profound beauty

in all of the scars and markings of this worn and tired being,

that I can only imagine

if I were completely broken

I would be even more beautiful.

Grace

You are so wise

…and powerful,

beautiful,

kind,

…and attuned.

You do not have to be any stronger than you are.

You do not have to be more brave than you are.

You do not have to be more balanced than you are,

or flexible,

or creative.

You do not need to be anymore of anything right now.

There is power in peace,

clarity and confidence in grace.

Feel into your wild and free intuition.

Let it guide you unabashedly!!

Lovable Strength

Today, I stand confident in who I am,

boundaries clear,

armor buffed and shield held high.

I speak up, stand up, and never back down when protecting you and ensuring your needs are met.

Today, I turn to face life’s challenges with the power of conviction

to protect my values for me,

uphold my beliefs that I deserve to be free of negative energy,

to have peace.

Today, I stand tall and strong in my truth,

and as I take up this new untarnished spiritual armor,

brave and resilient enough to confront those who aim to harm and belittle me,

I hope you raise your sword,

not to keep me small,

but in celebration of my

courage,

tenacity,

and

lovable strength.

Living in the space of AND

White flowers

Dark textures

Straight lines

Soft edges

Living wholeness

Dried pieces

Flowing lines

Still emptiness

Warm touches

Cool feeling

Hope and breath

No Ties

They say it’s the rainy season,

But this sweet hibiscus might disagree.

Roots reach out for a hint of moisture

Only to find dry fissures.

Body wilting,

Edges curling

Under the heat of the

Unrelenting sun.

Is it possible to need less?

To hold out for the rain?

Leaves start to yellow and fall to the ground.

It may be unrecoverable.

The sky grays,

The wind picks up

Tugging on every branch.

Pounding rain bounces off the parched ground

Smacking the undersides of the few remaining leaves.

The clouds break.

The ground is soft.

The leaves are green.

Out pops a blossom.

No ties to suffering.

No lingering struggle.

Just strong, vibrant.

Resilient.

Kaleidoscope of Change

What is regular? Normal? The way things are “supposed to be?”

It seems our nature is to crave stability and consistency, to look around us for the expected.

Can the expected really be a constant pattern of change, redefined based on circumstances?

In the fall every tree chooses a slightly different timing and color and pattern of change based on its relationship with the earth, the air, and its surroundings.

Even the evergreen loses some leaves, changes shape, and becomes something different year after year.

This shifting is considered beautiful, an often awe-inspiring evolution.

No tree taking the exact same steps, no one looking the same, yet all normal, regular, naturally changing.

This change allows the tree to thrive.

I must remember there is no right or wrong in change, simply an opportunity to be unafraid, vulnerable, and resilient.

Think about the possibility.

Steadfast

When I become the mountain that I see in the distance, I feel my steadiness, my ability to withstand the currents of the winds and the torrents of rain. I may be walked upon by people, animals and time, yet the cracks, worn paths, and decay only add to my character and beauty.

I reach towards the sky never forgetting the love of the earth – the earth within me.

When I feel my true strength, I no longer need to be strong

Resilience

How is it this cut flower, detached from its roots, has the capacity to re-grow itself, to expand in a new form, and when it seems to be at the end of its existence is capable of new life?

Resilience.

Response-Able

I am whole.

I am complete.

I am not waiting for anything.

I am aware of all that is going on inside and all around me.

There is choice at the base of my every action.

I am powerful and free.

I am responsible.

I am response-ABLE.
