Going Bigger

I breathe in, filling with the life force that moves me into every adventure, like the climbing of a roller coaster to the peak of its highest rail.

I teeter at the top, momentarily suspended in the gap of the breath the frozen space of fear.

And then I soften, surrender, and remember I am bigger than the gap. When I become bigger in the space of fear, fear becomes a place of play.

I can wade, jump, dive, trickle or race through the gap, inviting the breath to meet me at the other side. As I move more fully into each turn, each bend and dip in the rail, I become bigger and bigger with every breath.

In the bigness, I am fluid and free. There, in that space, I cannot help but smile in the excitement I find in being me…in breathing excitement into fear.

Buzzing with Ease

Whatever you do, do it with the essence of ease.

It doesn’t mean stop what you are doing. It means stay connected to your source, as if you are carrying your home with you, so you are not impatiently trying to get somewhere.

Slow down from the inside, even if the outside is wanting or needing to move swiftly. You can move swiftly, full of purpose and zeal, but on the inside remain steady, slow moving.

When I slow down on the inside, I find I don’t need to push so hard on the outside because I know I’m already where I should be.

Collective Liberation

When I learn to let go of anger, you begin to feel ease.

When I stop shaming myself, you become less judgmental.

When I no longer let my past determine my future, you gain hope and excitement.

When I can forgive myself for every and any mistake, shortcoming, and perceived failure, you let go of regrets.

When I remain in a positive state, your fears begin to fade away.

When I unconditionally love myself through the darkness and fears that arise, I invite your inner light to shine.

When I love me, you love more.

When I free myself, I free you.

Flowing

Creativity is a river always running through us…a river that sources imagination.

Imagination gives rise to widening pools of contemplation and greater depths of cohesion.

From this place springs the voice of the intuition…flowing strong and confidently into my external reality.

The more often I sit by this river and allow the currents to flow, the more resonant my knowing and the more joyful and fulfilling my experiences become.

Jagged Edges

Tucked into the crevices,

Buried between the rocks and sand,

Are little moments,

Precious little glimpses of life’s greatest gifts hiding just beneath the surface.

I could easily pass them by if not for the jagged edges that reach up, poking at my being.

This uneven landscape calls for greater awareness.

I draw upon my deepest core for balance so that the pressure and discomfort do not become too great.

Those jagged edges remind me that I have not chosen the easy path, but I am capable of walking this path just the same.

Those jagged edges belong to the moments that will require the greatest courage and persistence, but unquestionably will cause rise to the fullest form of me.

Hold Out Your Hand

img_2355-1

As you navigate the path of life, never forget how special you are, how worthy you are of love.  Of self-love.

Hold your own hand, cradle your own heart in your healing palms.  Feel the full bond of acknowledgement, acceptance, and allowing.

When you love yourself, all the other relationships in your life will thrive. No need for anything more.  For by loving yourself, you are loving all.

You are perfectly imperfect, divine and beautiful, whole in every aspect of you…just the way you are.

Love all of that, all of you, and the path will be clear.

Aware versus Analytical

I don’t need a “why.” I just need an “oh.”

Noticing something, my mind quickly jumps in to create a story.

I have this sensation. I will label it. I will now connect it to good or bad. My mind will attach it to a memory and define it as an experience.

How splendid it would be to just notice with curiosity, not the critical mind, as each thought occurs like drops of water. Inquisitively, I watch the water dripping, not seeking to explain its circumstance but simply present in its occurrence.

Awareness without analysis, knowledge for discovery, not proof or justification.

When I “oh” instead of “why”, I “be” instead of “do.”

By my side

I keep joy by my bedside

Nestled in shells that sing the song of freedom

And the flickering light of grace in my heart

To remind me that I am love

To remind me that all is love.

A Letter to My Children

hands

You stand here on the verge of opportunity, of expansive and lifelong joy and fulfillment, not because you are heading out into the world to receive knowledge, gifts, and experiences from the world, but because you are ready to take responsibility for who you are and the contributions you make to your world.

You hold within you everything you need, all the knowledge, all the guidance, all the tools, all the wisdom, to be great and to be happy, to feel and share goodness and empowerment.  Everything you need is right there within you.

Your generous spirit and your ability to make others laugh and feel cared for goes way back to when you were little.  Your empathy, sympathy, and compassion for others is great.  You were always the first to pick up a friend who tumbled, to offer your spot if it helped someone feel better, to clean up a mess that wasn’t yours, or to share a smile when no one else could find theirs.

Just be sure you have as much compassion, love, and kindness for yourself.

We know your missteps, your stumbles and wobbly choices were never intended to harm and were what you needed to do to learn the power of you, to learn how to listen not to what you think or feel should be done to please others but to rely upon your inner wisdom, the tiny little voice of your heart, that knows what is right…what is really right for you.  Because when you do what is right for you, it ends up making everything right around you.

Trust yourself more.  Know that you don’t have to make a big splash.  Honor your divine spirit and let your natural state of being sparkle.  Know that your true purpose is simply to do your best…and that is enough.  It truly is enough.

I will try to remember that too, especially when I pass judgment, apply expectations, and forget that you are not here to fill my dreams.

Live with vision, intention, and determination.  Stay accountable for your actions – feel your freedom and self-respect grow.  Go confidently forward and remain present, bypassing what might, should, and could have happened, and instead focus your energy on building a life around you of peace and acceptance.

You will most certainly face many challenges, sadness, failures, and pain. Remember those experiences are only there to help you dig deeper into discovering who you are.  Surrender your decision-making to your inner wisdom, listen to your deepest self and know your greater purpose.

You are no small part of anything. Remember your greatness, your power, your love, and your joy, always…and that is what I will remember of you.

The River

Utah

Today I will soften into the power of me.

I will flow like a river on a determined path,

fully yielding to the unexpected turns and objects along the way,

not giving into them but using them to jettison me forward,

staying true to myself, even in the face of the unknown…

strong, serene, complete in who I am.

Knowing that my strength is in my peace.
